 The following events will be held during the Mastiff Picnic, schedule is subject to change.


SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 21, 2019

11:00 AM ... PICNIC BEGINS!
Welcome to the Northeast Ohio Mastiff Picnic! 

When you arrive at the park please find the Welcome Tent to check in or purchase your tickets . All Picnic Volunteers must check in at the tent.  


11:00 AM - 3:00 PM  – WE HAVE LOTS TO WIN AND BUY!  Visit the Mastiff Picnic tents where you can check out the silent auction items, raffle baskets and specialty raffles, shop in the Mastiff Market Place, grab a bite to eat and visit with old friends and introduce yourself to new ones.  Please wear a name tag and help everyone feel welcome! 


11:00 AM – 3:00 PM – LUNCH! Tim and Pat are cooking burgers and hot dogs under the park pavilion! We asked each person to bring a side dish to share so lunch should be delicious! We have plenty of beverages in the coolers! Please make yourself at home and go back for seconds if you are still hungry!


11:00 AM-3:00 PM – KIDS TENT – The kids of the picnic have their very own tent out by the swings! Kids are welcome to have their face painted, play games and win raffle tickets! No money is needed!  


12:00 PM - 2 PM - Canine Good Citizen (CGC) testing ($20.00) by Niko Hagan and Danielle Dudley. This will take place in the Happy and Healthy tent. Check in with them to see when your dog can be tested.  


12:30-2:30 PM  Doggie and Human Massages

Take Up Your Mat will be providing massages for a donation at the Picnic for humans and doggies.  


1:00 PM - 3:00 PM – HEALTH TESTING! Head on over to the Happy and Healthy tent if you are in need of a Microchip for your dog! ($30). In addition, we will be doing Cystinuria testing! Seville Animal Hospital will be represented by registered technicians for drawing blood for your health testing needs! Just give them your completed cystinuria paperwork and they will do the rest!  We ask for a $10.00 donation per test. This will help cover the cost of overnight shipping which is expensive. BLOAT SEMINAR (1:30) – Tammy Kinkade will review symptoms & emergency procedure for the life-threatening condition common in mastiffs known as bloat.  This is a very informative discussion and knowing the signs and emergency procedure might save your mastiffs life one day. 


 3:00 PM – COSTUME CONTEST! Are you ready to dress up your canine partner-in-crime for our Costume Parade and Contest? We will have prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place. Please be in costume by 3:00. Judges this year are Marissa McFarland and Special Guest Paul Bass.


 3:30 PM - AUCTION AND RAFFLE TIME:  Be sure to have your silent auction bids in by 3:00! We will be pulling all silent auction log sheets around this time! We will start the raffle with 50:50, Marissa’s Mystery Prize, Announce Silent Auction winners, Regular Auction, draw Get Lucky tent winners then draw winners of our general raffle baskets! Be sure to keep your ticket stubs to claim your prize!

Annual Picnic Events

WHAT IS PROVIDED, WHAT TO KNOW AND WHAT TO BRING...

 

  • Hamburgers and Hot Dogs are provided along with drinks.
  • Please bring a side dish to share!
  • Please bring your chair, an EZ up tent for shade, blankets, water bowls, and most of all your friendly- leashed dog is welcome to join you!
  • Bring your CHECKBOOK or CASH to participate in our Auctions and Basket Giveaways!
  • We can also accept payment using your MAJOR CREDIT CARD or through PAYPAL.
  • No parking on the grass, please!  We'll get in trouble with the park.

Our annual picnic begins at 11 a.m on Saturday, September 21, 2019.

We offer lots of fun and laughter, good food, new friends, and many beneficial activities for the dogs. To learn more please visit the picnic page.

NOTE: Due to time constraint we ask that you have all your paperwork filled out in its ENTIRETY before you arrive at the picnic. If your paperwork is not complete we can not accept your test.


General Information

  • You must provide a copy of your dog's AKC Registration Form.
  • Please bring your checkbook, as you will be required to submit your fee on the day of the test.
  • All information is kept strictly confidential. Blood will be drawn the day of the picnic by the registered technicians of the Seville Animal Hospital.


** We encourage testing on both MALES and FEMALES **


Microchipping by AVID

This year we are excited to offer you the opportunity to have your dog(s) or pups microchipped for the low cost of $30. No dog should be without this important means of identification. All microchips will be distributed from AVID. You can learn more about them here: Avid Identification Systems, Inc.


Cystinuria Marker DNA Test for Males and Females of All Ages

Cost is $50 for DNA/Nitroprussside and $20 for Urine only ($70 for both).


Visit Penn Vet and create an account, fill out the paperwork via the website, print it and bring to the picnic. At the picnic, you will owe $10 to help cover shipping. DO NOT pay for the actual tests until UPENN sends you a link to pay. Shortly after, you will get the results of your tests.


Canine Good Citizen (CGC) testing

A few of our Picnic attendees are also CGC test evaluators and will offer CGC testing for a short time during the event.  The CGC test is $20

Costume Contest

Has your dog ever fantasized about being that Hunka Hunka Burning Love ... ELVIS? What about having super puppy powers? Has your girl ever said she wishes she was Lady Dog Dog (er, Ga Ga) but hid it behind her Poker Face? Maybe she has secretly desired to be Minnie Pearl but is too shy to admit it! In the weeks leading up tot he Picnic, we will be holding the annual Rescue Art Auction on the Mastiff Picnic Rocks in the Mastiff Picnic Rocks Facebook group.  the proceeds of the auctions directly benefits 6 (SIX) incredible and very hard-working Mastiff Rescue Organizations! We will be featuring SIX original priceless artworks. The proceeds for each of these 6 auctions will be directly donated to the organization the day after the Picnic. Each week a new original piece of art and rescue organization will be featured.  Be sure to join Mastiff Picnic Rocks to bid and help these amazing organizations at the same time!
